The Chronicle of Higher Education recently released an infographic highlighting the ways regional public universities are overcoming some of the most critical challenges they face. The infographic is a snapshot of information gleaned from a Chronicle survey, conducted with support from Academic Partnerships (now Risepoint), of more than 400 administrators at regional public universities across the country in October 2023.
Despite funding and employee morale challenges, administrators expressed confidence for the future, noting three top opportunities for growth, all of which are strengths of regional public universities:
- expanding online programs
- expanding graduate programs
- expanding workforce preparation and technical programs
